Four United States Presidents get caught up in a tornado and off they whirled to the land of OZ. They finally made it to the Emerald City and went to find the Great Wizard. "What brings the 4 of you before the great Wizard of Oz?" Jimmy Carter stepped forward timidly and said: "I've come for some courage." "No Problem! said the Wizard. Who's next?" Richard Nixon stepped forward, "Well, I think I need a heart." "Done! says the Wizard. Who comes next before the Great and...

A few weeks ago, the owner of this site, was in a debate over at "instapundit" with famous comedian Rush Limbaugh. At the time, Rush called JU owner, Brad Wardell an "amateur" for not using his real name. Brad quickly changed that, eliminating Rush's point. But more importantly, Rush accused Brad and other conservatives of disloyalty and worse to the GOP because he, like others, would not sacrifice their principles and root for a bunch of do-nothing frauds. Brad and the others felt disg...

In his press conference today, President Bush spoke of finding "common ground" with the new, democratically controlled congress. This new attitude is most welcomed by me. He stated in his conference that he had spoken with Nancy Pelosi this morning and they were both interested in finding that "common ground." Of course, 2 days ago, the message was, "no matter what, it's full steam ahead" and "Rumsfeld will remain until my term expires." But despite the political rhetoric, I believe the P...

NBC News is reporting that Donald Rumsfeld will resign. This comes only a week after President Bush declared that the secretary would be in his cabinet until 2009 when the President's term expires. The President has now established, once again, his ability to "flip flop" when politically convenient. He will be replaced by Bob Gates, another "good ol boy" from Texas A&M. Gates other recent resume entry includes working on the Baker / Hamilton commission that will unveil a new plan for Ira...

I see the genius is still melting away.... Now it's spelling errors. But he still hasn't corrected his "LYING" title. and "strawman" and straw man (2 words) can be used interchangeably. i had no problem finding the definition using the 1 word spelling. strawman - In general, a strawman is an object, document, person, or argument that temporarily stands in for and is intended to be "knocked down" by something more substantial Link go tell "Lil Abner" "lil" is not a word. i...

In the 18th century, The newly formed United States of America shaped our goverment and systems into thatof a representative democracy. This meant, since it was highly impractical to send every citizen to the nation's capitol to vote on every issue, each designated area would be able to elect an official who would represent and vote for the people of the district. In 1791, It took several days to get from the most western town i the new nation to the capitol. The most western city at the ...

What is your opinion. Do the people we elect to office serve the public or lead the public? Some tend to think that an elected official is there to represent and vote how his constituents want them to. Others feel that when someone is elected, it is then up to them how to vote. For most it seems, they want their official to lead when their opinion is in agreement with the politician. And likewise, serve when their opinion disagrees with the politicians view. It's similiar to how w...

The Army Times, which publishes The Navy Times, The Marine Times, The Air Force Times and of course, The Army TImes is today once again calling for defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld to resign. This directly contradicts the president's contention that Rumsfeld will remain his Secretary of Defense until Bush leaves office in 2009. The publications, which are the largest that serve the military, have now called for the Pentagon's pointman's resignation twice. The 1st time was after the Abu ...

For sometime now. Most of us have watched the administration selectively misquote and misrepresent people and things. They use what they think are clever lil "legalisms an carefully worded denials" meanwhile using their sheeps clothing to carry out the wolf's agenda. When people call them on the lies and disprove their premises, they jump ship and begin parroting elsewhere to a more gullible audience. When all gullible audiences have been used up, they change the subject. Then, some t...
