Tonight, it will be the democrats that will clash on the debate stage. This time, from South Carolina. This is where CNN is holding their joint venture with Youtube in an effort to change the debates and how they work. Tonight, all the questions will be from people who submitted their questions via the web. I'm not sure that in itself will be revolutionary, although it is a nice change of pace. Of course, it is possible for the 2 media outlets to simply choose the questions some hired m...

Late last week, I had the chance to sit down and talk with one of the Republican party's most respected representatives. He is especially respected in conservative circles. But because he is not anything like the typical brand of showboating neoconservatives that flood the media, he retains that respect throughout the halls of Congress. I am talking about Congressman Joe WIlson of South Carolina's 2nd District. Congressman Wilson has enjoyed serving the people of South Carolina's 2nd dis...

Last week, the 8 declared candidates for the democratic nomination squared off in what turned out to be a mostly uneventful "meet and greet" in South Carolina. Outside of an impressive performance and the "line of the night" from Senator Joe Biden, not much was learned except that Barack needs to prepare better for his next debate and Hillary is prepared as advertised. There are 10 participants in the 90 minute show, moderated by MSNBC host of "Hardball, " Chris Matthews. So don't expect...

In our society, there are polls to show trends in just about everything. In fact, the most popular show on network tv these days is in effect, a popularity poll. Most of the polls that I see, however, are about politics. And where polls can be used and interpreted for a variey of things, many times, people, but more often than not, the media, totally misuses these devices. Polls are not definitive. They all have "margins of error" meaning that if someone garners a 50% approval in a poll, ...

Last month, Rupert Murdoch made a revalation at the World Economic Forum in Sweeden that went largely unnoticed. In a 1/2 filled hall, in a seminar about "who will shape the agenda in the future?," the media mogul, who owns Fox News , The New York Post amongst others, admitted to trying to assist the administration in it's efforts to "gin up" the Iraq War. Murdoch said "We tried [...] We basically supported the Bush policy in the Middle East." Tried? No point in being humble now Mr Mu...

A few weeks ago, the owner of this site, was in a debate over at "instapundit" with famous comedian Rush Limbaugh. At the time, Rush called JU owner, Brad Wardell an "amateur" for not using his real name. Brad quickly changed that, eliminating Rush's point. But more importantly, Rush accused Brad and other conservatives of disloyalty and worse to the GOP because he, like others, would not sacrifice their principles and root for a bunch of do-nothing frauds. Brad and the others felt disg...

Check this ad out on the candidate's website. A great way to say something without ever actually saying it... Link Of course, I don't live in Mass., but if I did, I could vote for this guy I think. Anyone who has seen the "big dig" disaster in Boston i'm sure can relate to this. And even if you haven't, you are sure to get a chuckle!
