Recently, I started a post on the subject of the legalization of marijuana as it pertains to tax revenues. As our coffers run dry in Washington, and our children's futures are mortgaged for the sake of another vacation home or "blow-out vegas weekend" for some overpriveledged snob, we face the very real challenge in finding solutions to our economic woes. But in this article, let's take a look at what pot could do for the war on terror. Of coourse the kneejerk reaction are those pathetic co...

The following is a reprint of a letter i got this morning,,,also provided, is a link so you can see Rumsfeld lie for yourself... A year ago today, the Bush Administration was making its final push toward war in Iraq. We know now that much of what we were told about the threat that Iraq posed was untrue. And rather than own up to their distortion of the facts, Bush administration officials are denying they ever said such things. But this Sunday, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld got cau...

The last time we left our friend Sam, he was enjoying a couple of tokes from some great British Columbian pot he had purchased on the internet. But for Sam the adventures never end... Sam decided he needed a vacation. It was still cold and wet where he lived and he needed some sun. Sam and I discussed some options and he seemed really enthused about my recent trip to Ocho Rios Jamaica. We looked online and found some last minute deals and Sam was in business. He left that week for the tr...

There is a lot of talk out there about what freedom is and what it is to live in a free society. Allow me to paraphrase a former Canadian prime minister on the subject. She suggested that if one can go throughout an entire day without seeing or experiencing something that offended you, then you don't live in a free society. I found that to be about the best definition of a free society i had heard in a long time. Certainly, it was the most concise. It is true. We see things everyday...

the following is a reprint of a review i wrote on this place,,,,i was thinking today, looking out into the muck of a march snowfall, how nice it was,,,,enjoy,,, We just got back from spending 5 great nights at Fisherman's Point. We arrived there, tired and fatigued from the journey. Our bellman, Ernest, took great care in checking us in and getting us everything we needed to relax that evening. And just about every day, Ernest stopped by to make sure we were comfortable. And thanks to him...

People have been debating the re-legalization of marijuana since the criminilizing of the very substance some of our most historical documents were written on, like the Declaration of Independence. Now we face record deficits and a lack of funding for just about everything we need. The war(s) we are fighting, health care, education and just about anything else you can think of. Unless you want a piece of blatant pork, spent in a republican congressman's district, there probably is a sh...

We are safer. The world is more dangerous. It seems contradictions like this are becoming more and more commonplace with the GOP these days. For the past 3 years, and especially in the last year, since the Iraq invasion. The administration is trying to convince us that at the same time, we are both safer, yet in more danger. Of course, this isn't atypical of the rhetoric that has become commonplace from the administration. Whenever someone brings up questions about the war and issues surrou...

People say that anyone can buy anything on the internet. Is that true? Or is it just the clap trap of people who either fear or embrace the internet as the global playground that we imagine. Sure, we all know that you can find porn, politics, people, places and a plethora of purchasable potions available 24/7, 365 days a year. My mailbox gets flooded with junk mail about getting viagra, valium and a variety of persciption medicines delivered to my door discreetly and sometimes cheaply. All thi...

Greetings:) ... It is now about 7 1/2 months before the Presidential Election. John Kerry and George Bush are revving their engines and entering into what looks like might be the roughest election season ever. Last year at this time, it was a much different picture. The democrats couldn't even come close in a poll and it seemed George Bush was on an easy path to victory. We were about to go to war. And with fear as their guide, it seemed as though the President had made his case and he ...
