Philip Giordano, the former Republican mayor of Westbury Connecticut, was given more jail time in connection with a list of sex offenses with children. And when we say children here, we mean little kids. Philip Giordano entered pleas to four counts of first-degree sexual assault and four counts of conspiracy to commit sexual assault Charges based on allegations that he paid a crack-addicted prostitute to bring her 8-year-old daughter and 10-year-old niece to him for oral sex. He plea...

Today, former Chief of Staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby, was sentenced to 30 months in prison. He was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice earlier this year. His lawyers have stated they will appeal the conviction. In the meantime, the judge in the case is considering whether or not to demand that Libby serve his time immediately, or be able to be free while pending appeal. A 3rd option would have him report in 60 days. Comments by the judge in the court regard...

Last night, Paris Hilton left an appearance at the MTV movie awards and checked into an L.A. jail. Before the ceremony, Paris seemed sober and content to face her music for the next 22-45 days, depending on how she behaves and how crowded they are. So, at last, we can all rejoice that the lil bitch got her just desserts. We can all feel gleeful in the knowledge that our great justice system has accomplished it's mission. Hooray. Now, don't get me wrong, I can't help but feel a litt...

Last Night, the 2nd debate for the Democrats took place, this time on CNN. It was the 4th debate overall, with the Republicans going at it twice already on MSNBC and Fox. The Democrats chose to skip Fox's offer for a debate last month. This production wasn't quite as slick as Fox's, but like the NFL on CBS, it had it's own charm. CNN chose to go back to the "no-applause" rule, sticking to a more traditional debate format than Fox, who encouraged applause, something usually not part of a ...

There has been a lot of talk about "amnesty" in regards to the President's immigration proposal. Unfortunately, most of it is misdirected. The 12 million immigrants aren't really getting anything close to the definition of amnesty. Amnesty is about getting off "scott-free" for an alleged "greater good." These 12 million or so illegal immigrants will be required to pay fines, go back and forth to their "native country" and do a host of other things just to be eligible for any kind of citiz...

Another departure from the Bush White House today was announced. The President's Counselor, Dan Bartlett announced he would be stepping down. Bartlett assumed that position in January of 2005. He has been working for the Bush team since 1994 when he was involved in Bush's Texas Governor race.

This morning at 7:10 am, Team Conners Representative and board member Sean Conners and Board CEO Marianne Conners announced a bold new expansion for the team. They went public after a grueling 10 hour meeting that seemed deadlocked for most of the night. But by morning, it was clear that this team had gotten larger. Expansion plans began about 9 months ago. They reported an expansion of 8 pounds 1 ounce, and the new addition to the team reportedly will be called Casey Andrew Conners. E...

This summer reading season is seeing a crop of new books about Senator Clinton. Some of them positive, some of them negative. Most of which, even the ones that don't paint the forcmer 1st lady in a positive light, aren't kind about their marriage. Unfortunately, that's not much of a bombshell. Real news might be if we found out they had a great marriage. But more disturbing are Senator Clinton's past actions, or inactions in regards to the biggest issue of our times, the war on terror. At...

This is a debate that people have tossed around for years. Exactly what defines a "sport?" To me, this is how I define them and some reasons why other activities and competitions are not included in my list of sport. 1) Sports must have 2 sides. Offense and defense. And both sides must have equal opportunities. The roles can change throughout the compettion, but both sides must have an opportunity to be both offense and defense. ****this negates hunting, fishing and other acti...

Today, Texas Congressman and Presidential hopeful Ron Paul defended his prior statements about the blunders in US Policy that lead to 9/11 and our disaster in Iraq. He did so by offering a reading list to Mr Giuliani, who's gaffes this week include claiming President Clinton wanted to go to war with Iraq, but just never got the chance. Someone needs to inform the ex mayor that this is simply not true. And that the 1998 resolution was not about going to war with Iraq but about backing Cha...

Last night, Keith Olbermann gave one of his special comments. This time, he was not primarily focused on the President or Vice President and their failed Iraq policy, but rather the Democratic Congress folding to the President after recieving a clear mandate last fall from the voters. For those who claim that "all we do is bash the President" should read this. And those who have read some of my past articles and comments on other blogs know that I have been critical of the leadership and call...

Presidential candidate and ex-NYC mayor, Rudy Giuliani has been running his campaign on 2 themes. Both of which are pretty much false. The 1st is his "9/11" experience. Giuliani's ads love to show him walking the streets with his team after the twin towers were struck. It looks good. There's only one problem. The only reason they are "out on the streets" is because the center and headquarters that was designed to house them and give them a base to manage such an emergency had been blown up...

In the 80's, highway designers and engineers came up with a plan to alleviate America's roads from growing gridlock on our highways. Their idea, at least on paper, was a good one. It was commonly reffered to as the "HOV" lane. HOV stood for high occupancy vehicle. The plan was simple. Build these special roads with a clear path to home or work that could bypass the back-up on the highway. In order to have access to these roads, all anyone had to do was have 3 or more people in the car. ...
