republican presidential candidate offers giuliani a reading list to brush up on foreign policy...

Today, Texas Congressman and Presidential hopeful Ron Paul defended his prior statements about the blunders in US Policy that lead to 9/11 and our disaster in Iraq.

He did so by offering a reading list to Mr Giuliani, who's gaffes this week include claiming President Clinton wanted to go to war with Iraq, but just never got the chance. Someone needs to inform the ex mayor that this is simply not true. And that the 1998 resolution was not about going to war with Iraq but about backing Chalabi's Iraqi National Congress in their attempts to cause regime change.

But he gets away with it with GOPers willing to sell out their other values to try to look "tough." After all, this is a country where if asked "does Rudy Giuliani have any foreign policy experience whatsoever?" 80% would probably say "yes."

The reading list includes "Dying to Win," which argues that suicide bombers only mobilize against an occupying force; "Blowback," which looks at the unintended consequences of our foreign policy. And the 9/11 Commission Report, which says that Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was primarily angered by the presence of U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia.

Another book on the list was "Imperial Hubris," whose author, Michael Scheuer offered his support to Paul at the press conference.

"Foreign policy is about protecting America," said Scheuer, who used to head the CIA's bin Laden unit.(before Bush dismantled it) "Our foreign policy is doing the opposite."

Better get reading Rudy. Based on your innacurate at best statements so far, you apparantly have a lot to learn. Just because a majority of uninformed people think you have the experience, doesn't make it so. And if elected President, you'll at least need some "know-how" and understanding of who exactly our enemies are and what motivates them...for real. Something you obviously haven't a clue of now.
