not about partisanship or philosophies...Cheney is out of control and drunk with power
Published on June 23, 2007 By Sean Conners aka SConn1 In Republican
This week saw another round in Dick Cheney and his office defying the wheels of justice, Congress and anyone that dares question the Vice President. Now it seems that Cheney's game is essentially about switching which branch of the government they belong to at their convenience and discretion. If someone wants them accountable to the executive, Cheney's office claims to be a member of the legislative branch using Dick's title of Senate President for cover. Then, if Congress wants to question him, solicit documents or whatever, Cheney's office then claims membership with the executive, and claims executive priveledge.

Oh, how convieeeenient."

Have you had enough of this guy pissing on the constitution and acting above the law? I have.

I don't care what your political persuasion is, would you sit pat while anyone from the "other side of the spectrum" carried on in the same fashion? He has shielded an array of information such as the industry executives who advised his energy task force, details about his privately funded travel and Secret Service logs showing who visits his official residence.

And now this mess with the National Archives And Records Administration. This would be an instance of Cheney claiming to be a member of the legislative branch. Not only that, it has recently come to light that Cheney has been trying to eliminate the office for some time now. And they have not been cooperating with them since 2003.

The arrogance of this man is astounding. He is singlehandedly attempting to rewrite the Constitution. And it needs to stop. I'm not even going to go into everything this man has done to defy the law, and set himself above it as no other Vice President has ever even come close to doing.

Again, even the most hardened conservative or neoconservative would be spitting fire if this was any Democratic President. Why is anyone defending this man at this point? No matter who it is, no man is above the law. And this isn't over anything trite or superficial. Dick Cheney has clearly been shown to basically to have been running his own lil government. He set up his own intelligence agency for Christ's sake! He answers to no one. even when he shoots a man in the face, he feels he was under no obligation to report it to anyone.

Allowing this man to go on unchecked is truly insane. Congress needs to step up, get on the fast track and reign him in. Everyone knows that stooge Alberto Gonzales won't be any help. Fredo is just happy to be holding on to his own job at this point and merely serves as a blocker for the President. That is sick in itself, what our Federal Justice Department has become, but that's a whole 'nother issue. As far as Cheney is concerned tho, he surely feels safe knowing that no one from Fredo's office would ever come sniffing round his neck of the woods. So it is surely up to Congress.

Hopefully, they won't let the American people down the way they have on the issue of Iraq. It is time for some brave men of courage to stand up to the Vice President and his bullying and deceptive, coniving ways. They need not fear the political consequence. Nor should they care.

But will they? Or will they allow Cheney to run out the clock and slip into the dark, shadowy night? That's a question that only the Congress can answer. Let's hope they answer it soon.

how do you impeach a vp he works for the president and is in charge of the senate

and he doesn't do anything and that will be his defense
on Jun 23, 2007
It makes you wonder what he is hiding, doesn't it.
on Jun 23, 2007
ANSWER-- YES

The Congress has the power to Impeach the VP and should act without delay. Let's start a petition to have Draft Dogger Dick Impeached.

He is the worst VP we have ever had BUT has one saving grace—He Makes Bush look good!

Clinton was a 1000% better then Dick. Clinton also did not start an unneeded war that has cost America 1/2 Trillion Dollars, 3,500 dead and over 25,000 injured!

I am just agreeing with the Blog!

Clinton got with an intern, and I didn't. Therefore, he was the worst president ever.

Anyway, what is all this pretending to be a member of the legislative branch? He's in the executive, per the constitution, if I remember American Government correctly, regardless of what powers he may hold in the Senate, which is only as a tiebreaker as far as I know. Maybe shooting him in the face would be a better solution, but I'm not sure.

your right about one thing clinton couldn't have been the4 worse president ever becouse he was never president

i have never called him president.

on Jun 24, 2007
rahm emanuel has countered cheney's claim by offering to defund cheney's office since he is now contending that he is a member of the legislative. and keep in mind, emanuel isn't some "looney fringe" liberal, he orchestrated the 2006 election for the democratic party. he is part of the leadership and one with some "political capital" built up.

your right about one thing clinton couldn't have been the4 worse president ever because he was never president i have never called him president.

what? i've heard this crap from you before dan. so, you are saying that you don't acknowledge that bill clinton was elected twice, fair and square in 2 consecutive elections??? then please, if you can't recognize the legitimate leader of the country you claim citizenship in, don't continue to call yourself an american. because that is 100% un-american. regardless of what you think of him as a man, not acknowledging him to be the president and publicly declaring it is about as un-american as you can get.

people on the left get skewered from the right for exactly the same thing with bush. now, while they do at least have a legit beef with the process and all, the fact remains that the result is what it is, and we, as a nation of laws, not men, abide by that. our personal political leanings or how one feels about the man is 100% irrelevant to their status as President of the United States. And anyone who calls themselves an American must be able to acknowledge the President as legitimate in the end.

where it's obvious where liberals can make the argument that bush is not a legit pres. based on florida in 2000 (and i'm not saying who's right or wrong, just that a case can be made) but where exactly do you get off de-legitimizing President Clinton?

on Jun 24, 2007
Clinton did not take us into an unneeded war. He did not add 4 Trillion to the debt. His lies did not cause the death of our military the way Bush's and Cheney's lies did!

nope i agree he was elected

i am just simple saying he never took office

no he took us into three or four unneeded wars. and he sent them in unarmed.
except the pilot that got shot down and he was going to abandon him. watch the movie

Sean AL gore is not the first man to get the popular vote and lose the election.

it took him six months and 12 rule changes before he got the results that he wanted. so all that proves is that he was a sore loser.

and if you try to respond that bush won it in the courts. just remember one thing any and all ties or disputes for presidential elections are supposed to be decided by the senate. AL gore didn't want to go to the senate because it was republican at the time.

so he took it to the courts. and the first court should have told him that they couldn't take the case. because the condition says it goes to the senate.

bush did not steal the vote.

bush won that vote.

I have but 2 words for those hacking on the VP for his supposed actions. And they are "Sandy Burger". When they "actually" DO something to him for what he did, then I'll start jumping on the VP.

well, start jumping. according to MM, berger lost his law liscense and got some other petty punishment. i think he's banned from the place he stole the documents from to for like 3 years. but regardless, the case has been tried and settled.
on Jun 25, 2007
Tempest in a teapot here. Way too easy to just get in a huff, assume the law is clear and trash the VP before really researching the issue. Whenever there is legitimate disagreement about the applicability of a law, those who disagree are entitled to do so. If it's important enough, the courts will end up deciding. I don't think this is terribly important. Wasn't a problem in Democrat administrations, either - every administration in history has engaged in such shielding activity whenever there were plausible grounds for doing so.

Bush did not steal the vote.

Bush won that vote.

In 2000 Bush won the electoral vote in FL because of a confusing Ballot design in Palm Beach County that resulted in 3,500 votes for Gore NOT being counted. If all the votes in Florida had been counted as the people voted, BUSH LOST. Bush also got over 500,000 fewer votes overall then Gore! That Mistake then got us Cheney who is the WORST VP in our history. We have the WORST President and Vice President in the same Administration!
