not about partisanship or philosophies...Cheney is out of control and drunk with power
Published on June 23, 2007 By Sean Conners aka SConn1 In Republican
This week saw another round in Dick Cheney and his office defying the wheels of justice, Congress and anyone that dares question the Vice President. Now it seems that Cheney's game is essentially about switching which branch of the government they belong to at their convenience and discretion. If someone wants them accountable to the executive, Cheney's office claims to be a member of the legislative branch using Dick's title of Senate President for cover. Then, if Congress wants to question him, solicit documents or whatever, Cheney's office then claims membership with the executive, and claims executive priveledge.

Oh, how convieeeenient."

Have you had enough of this guy pissing on the constitution and acting above the law? I have.

I don't care what your political persuasion is, would you sit pat while anyone from the "other side of the spectrum" carried on in the same fashion? He has shielded an array of information such as the industry executives who advised his energy task force, details about his privately funded travel and Secret Service logs showing who visits his official residence.

And now this mess with the National Archives And Records Administration. This would be an instance of Cheney claiming to be a member of the legislative branch. Not only that, it has recently come to light that Cheney has been trying to eliminate the office for some time now. And they have not been cooperating with them since 2003.

The arrogance of this man is astounding. He is singlehandedly attempting to rewrite the Constitution. And it needs to stop. I'm not even going to go into everything this man has done to defy the law, and set himself above it as no other Vice President has ever even come close to doing.

Again, even the most hardened conservative or neoconservative would be spitting fire if this was any Democratic President. Why is anyone defending this man at this point? No matter who it is, no man is above the law. And this isn't over anything trite or superficial. Dick Cheney has clearly been shown to basically to have been running his own lil government. He set up his own intelligence agency for Christ's sake! He answers to no one. even when he shoots a man in the face, he feels he was under no obligation to report it to anyone.

Allowing this man to go on unchecked is truly insane. Congress needs to step up, get on the fast track and reign him in. Everyone knows that stooge Alberto Gonzales won't be any help. Fredo is just happy to be holding on to his own job at this point and merely serves as a blocker for the President. That is sick in itself, what our Federal Justice Department has become, but that's a whole 'nother issue. As far as Cheney is concerned tho, he surely feels safe knowing that no one from Fredo's office would ever come sniffing round his neck of the woods. So it is surely up to Congress.

Hopefully, they won't let the American people down the way they have on the issue of Iraq. It is time for some brave men of courage to stand up to the Vice President and his bullying and deceptive, coniving ways. They need not fear the political consequence. Nor should they care.

But will they? Or will they allow Cheney to run out the clock and slip into the dark, shadowy night? That's a question that only the Congress can answer. Let's hope they answer it soon.

In 2000 Bush won the electoral vote in FL because of a confusing Ballot design in Palm Beach County that resulted in 3,500 votes for Gore NOT being counted. If all the votes in Florida had been counted as the people voted, BUSH LOST

I see you have moved your obsessive nonsense over here now.  We have gone through this already and you were wrong.  The ballot design was not confusing as kids from an elementary school had no problem using them.

well, start jumping. according to MM, berger lost his law liscense and got some other petty punishment. i think he's banned from the place he stole the documents from to for like 3 years. but regardless, the case has been tried and settled.

Big deal, losing his licence to practice law is a slap on the wrist. This man stole and destroyed federal documents. Had you or I done that, we'd be doing hard in a federal pen. Yet all he gets is losing his licence.

NOT TRUE. They interviewed the people about that ballot and they were confused. Also the % of ballots that were NOT counted because of the double punch was off the scale compared with ALL other counties in FLORIDA! If that had not taken place Bush would NOT have taken the electoral vote in Fl and would NOT have become President in 2000!

This is over and above the fact that 29,000 Ballots in Duval County were not recounted!

Col, the election was in 2000, it's time for you to let it go and seek help.  Bush won, get over it.

true,,,there is no point in going over that over and over again. it's done, it's history. but coming from the crowd that embraced the swiftboaters and their lies when they wanted to trash john kerry...even tho his service, award reception and everything were every bit as settled is ironic, to put it mildly.

You underestimate the intelligence of elementary school students and overestimate the intelligence of the average voter. There should not even be a QUESTION whether it was confusing or not. Voting should be the most straightforward thing you do. Mark here for this guy, here for this guy, or write in here. Make sure to make your mark heavy and dark. Do not mark outside the circle, or anywhere else on the page, or we will throw out your vote. Then you'll have no right to complain.

I agree. However the ballot design in Palm Beach County was not that clear and that is why so many were confused. They knew WHO they wanted to vote for it was the ballot that was not clear. The area where this took place was composed of many older voters who punched in the wrong place and then tried to correct their error by punching the ballot a second time for Gore which was the person they wanted to elect!

The issue is that Bush was elected because of a mistake and the country has suffered for that mistake over the past almost 7 years and will continue to suffer from that error into the future!!!!!

One way we all suffer is from Cheney who Bush picked as his VP.

Not really.  The questions into Kerrys services have never fully been "settled", including his "tales" of fighting in Cambodia.

In your opinion.  As was said, get over it.  There is absolutley nothing you are going to do that will get Bush out of office.

Good point. There is nothing he is GOING to do. Anyway, if they punched it twice, they are dumb. Go get a new ballot, don't submit one without a clear vote on it. But especially, if you have a close vote, you can't NOT count votes. They should have revoted with clearer ballots, in my opinion. Why they didn't is probably a matter of cost and nobody actually caring what the people thought. They can't just count the vote as a vote for Gore, if it's punched twice. They may have meant to vote for someone else and voted for Gore first. So you ignore this vote? No! Recast all the ballots. It's the only fair thing to do.

the ballat in florida was designed and forced to be used by the democrats becouse the one before it was to hard to understand.

and as i said al gore had to change the rules 12 times to get a winning count and that was six months after the vote was over

so no he didn't win the vote as the rules stood on november 7th
