Miss NJ sticks it to potential blackmailer...keeps crown & dignity
Published on July 12, 2007 By Sean Conners aka SConn1 In Current Events
This afternoon, it was announced that Amy Polumbo, Miss New Jersey, will indeed keep her crown despite the efforts of an annonymous coward who threatened her and the title she had earned. Miss Polumbo should serve as an example to others who are the victims of a cold hearted coward that tries to use blackmail to achieve their means.

What she did was not back down. While i'm sure law enforcement was busy looking into the matter, the best thing she did was stand up, and put the photos that she was being threatened with herself. And the photos turned out to be nothing terribly unusual. Where some "eyebrows may be raised," there wasn't even a wardrobe malfunction or anything even close to nudity involved.

Thus the coward's ammunition was diffused.

And with today's quick announcement @ about 4pm today, this matter is over. And now the blackmailer, who's efforts have been exposed to the light of day only has one thing to worry about...the law busting through their door for their criminal ways.

Kudos and congrats to Miss Amy Polumbo. Let's hope more follow in that example she has offered!

One can always find rays of sunshine if they look for it.  Congrats to Ms. Polumbo!

That is a good ending to this story. I can already see a Lifetime movie being made about it.

Does Hollywood have anyone good looking enough to play a beauty pagent winner?

Just be sure you're not looking straight at the ray if you don't want to lose your sight.

I was born in New Jersey so hooray for one of my own. I saw some of the picks and outside of being silly, having fun and enjoying life I see nothing in these picks that would say to me she is not a role model. I mean who hasn't taken silly pictures of themselves before (besides people who can't afford cameras or pictures taken)? Putting 2 pumpkins in front of your chest in a manner suggesting boobs? Come on, it's just fun, women have boobs, it's part of what makes them women, as if they don't show enough of them during the Miss USA show in the first place, what with the elegant dresses they were and the swimsuit competition (if they still have it, don't know), I mean that is just plain stupid. Hey boyfriend simulating bitting a nipple on the pick? So what, it's her boyfriend, she has the right to let him touch her as she feels and it's not promoting Playboy like actions. You would think if they would condemn her for kissing someone in a pic, would that also be considered sexual. I'm glad she came out OK here. Good for her.

i think the "role model" role for the winners of beauty pageants has been way overplayed. fact is, this is a "beauty" contest. and the skills required to do the job are the ability to be able to read a professionally written speech, smile, wave and occasionally cut a ribbon with some oversized scissors.

and nothing i saw in those pictures would inhibit her ability to do any of those things.

and even if the pictures did have nudity, i could have cared less. i think these people who run the pageants are better served when they refuse to take away a crown because of loons like this instead of playing along and pretending that this garbage actually matters in the long run.
