Congressman Rogers, a republican, has charged Jack Murtha with violating house rules concerning a measure Murtha tried to put into recent legislation to save the National Drug Intelligence Center, a facility that "fights the war on drugs" and is located in Johnstown, Pa. Johnstown is in Murtha's district.

If the allegations pan out. It will be up to Speaker Pelosi to live up to her words regarding "cleaning up" the house. OF course, the pundits have already damned both Pelosi and Murtha, before anything has been proven, which is to be expected.

But for the rest of us, we will wait and see what happens and what is fact, and what is fiction.

Complete story below....

Well what I said was true.  Who are these "pundits" you speak of anyways?  Do republicans get this treatment from "pundits" as well?

I mean you try to come off like your criticizing a democrat just so you can point back to later and say......"see look!".  Try again buddy....lol.

my apologies here dog...i actually misread the replies and thought guy wrote it...he's been "in a mood" today, it seems...(just ribbin ya guy)

as far as doing things to point back...you're wrong...if you have been paying attention, i was unabashed about my support for the democrats and my motives about change in our war / foreign policy. and i also made a point of saying tha twhen they got into a position of power, i would hold them accountable as well. i saw this charge made this morning...i really don't know a ton about it yet, so, i haven't drawn conclusions. thus, the perspective i wrote it with, as it is a story i want to keep track of.

and a sidenote...i was trying to post something via the forums on the debate thread we are in discussion on...it screwed up and the result was 2 blanks,,,feel free to delete them...my apologies for the mess.

I was wondering about that, but since you quoted ID, and he is a guy (can I help it if I am french???), I figured you were talking to him.

As for my mood, not really. Just have not had a lot of meat to state, and so sarcasm is the name of the day.

Congressman Rogers, a republican, has charged Jack Murtha with violating house rules

but since he has been charged then he should resign just like he would expect a republican to do
on May 18, 2007
but since he has been charged

he hasn't been formally indicted or anything..."charged" in this case means accused.

there have been a lot of republicans in his same place with them demanding that they resign

or do i need to remind you of the current attorny general so called problem

where the president can at a whim for any or all of them unless they are looking into charges against him or his party

Democrats are held to a different standard than Republicans.  Look at Jefferson, was he forced to resign even though he was caught with bribes?

are ya'll just gonna keep beating that dead horse? is there any other examples other than jefferson?

i've written repeatedly about what a discrace that is. but if you want to blame anyone, blame the voters of new orleans who re-elected him well after the money had thawed. WWW Link

Given that Foley was Innocent (not even a chargeable offense), no need to go after Jefferson (who likes his cash in small frozen bills). Murtha, Pelosi (Husband's company) and Feinstein (ditto) are much dirtier than Foley.

Yet who resigned? And who has leadership?

BTW: There are 3 more names. You might want to check WVA as well.

there might be some pages that take issue with that statement
