we, the people are your boss. and we have demanded our withdrawal from Iraq...

Congress has sent the appropriations bill on the Iraq war as they promised. They have listened to the American people who have overwhelmigly demanded, as their employers, that President Bush begin a withdrawal from Iraq. The bill is not my ideal bill, but it is at least in the direction the nation has pointed the government in.

The President has responded with the false argument that those who want out of Iraq "are trying to tell the generals what to do." This is a lie. The Congress isn't saying ANYTHING to the generals or any of the troops.

The Congress is telling The President, as the commander of the military, to do what we want. We are ordering him to begin a responsible path. What he orders the troops and generals to do is up to him. I hope he gives them good orders and puts people in charge that are competent to carry out this mission. For that is the mission we want. And we are in charge. Not you, Mr President. Whereas you command the military, we command you.

Today, President Bush quipped that he has consistantly said that "debate is important, but don't put the troops in the middle of the debate." We have not done that, sir, in any way, shape or form. Despite your rants. Your heyday of using 9/11, the troops and fear in general to manipulate the truth and the public are over. the only one who consistantly abuses the troops for their own political agenda is you, sir.

I'm sure you will continue to try to perpetuate your false argument and whine about the democrats, the congress, the media and how wrong they are in trying to put an end to your miserable failure and foreign policy blunder in Iraq. A tragedy that we will be paying for for generations in more ways than one. But while you propogandize your agenda, don't forget that the Congress is doing what we are directing them to do. The media is finally waking up and exposing your dark secrets to the light of day. And it's not democrats that want out of Iraq, it's the American people, your bosses.

Stop putting the troops in the middle of the debate Mr President and do what we, the people order you to do. Bring a responsible end to this war. Begin moving out, not in. It's your job.

like i said, i don't agree with you. it's not about any political gain. what am i trying to gain exactly? i'm not a democrat or republican. what would i gain?

i can't vote for or against george bush ever again...what would i gain?

i am doing my duty as a citizen, sir. exercizing my right to free speech in registering my grievance with america's policy being carried out by the executive branch.

it has nothing to do with your petty "political gain" games.

shame on you, sir.

but in doing so you are backing the demos who are holding the troops hostage

bush may or may not be right but the demos are wrong in this trying to usurpe the presidents military power at the safety of our troops

why do you think they want to wait until next october to pull the troops out

one guess november
