I, and other steeler fans wonder...
Ben Rothlisberger lost his 4th game out of 5 yesterday. This time, he managed to make the Oakland Raiders, considered by some as the worst team in the league, look good.
Ben threw another 4 interceptions and just looked bad out there. What is wrong with him?
Is it the motorcycle accident? Watching him play, he seems to be reacting a bit slower than in the past. It could be a lingering or permanent effect of the accident. Or it could be a lack of confidence.
Is it the fact that he hasn't had to deal with any real adversity on the field being surrounded by a great team and dominating defense? Is he just full of himself and not doing the hard work and study it takes to be competitive in the NFL?
I really have no idea. But I do know that watching him play has gone from one of my favorite things in the last few years to a truly painful experience. I hope he or the Steelers or someone figures it out soon.
Maybe he should be benched, maybe he should "play thru it." I don't know. But Bill Cowher better know or figure it out pretty fast.
