In a pretty surprising move, reports say that President Bush made a "b-line" towards the Oval office after meeting with Russian President Putin in Maine and emerged with an announcement that Scooter Libby's sentence would be commuted. This means he will serve no prison time. Libby's 250,000 dollar fine and loss of his law license will stand.

The commuting of Libby's sentence comes after 2 of 3 Republican appointed judges upheld the 30 month sentence imposed on Libby for perjury and obstructio...

Remember when we invaded Iraq?

Remember when the Turks wouldn't let us use theri country as a base and we couldn't bribe em enough to change their position? They feared being attacked themselves. We laughed it off.

Since then, Kurds in Northern Iraq have been attacking and terrorizing Turkey. Of course, we don't report that. We report "all is calm and well" in the north. It isn't.

So now that Turkey's prediction that all an invasion of Iraq would mean for them is attacks from the Kurds ...

Recently, the White House continued on it's fear mongering campaign, instead of actually dealing with national security or anything that actually might do some good. This week's laughable JFK plot was just another example of rhetoric and fear over facts and reason.

The Bush appointed US Attorney, a group that has recently been scared into loyalty or face firing, announced the plot, describing it's results to be "unthinkable."

Yeah, they were unthinkable, as in impossible.

OF course, th...

For another "scare story." The administration's been taking it on the chin lately.

Oh, here we go...(as I turn around to see the "breaking news")...

"Los Angeles Airport Evacuated Due To Suspicious Package"

This lady gives a great commentary on the stress that our military families are experiencing due to this administration's reckless policies and lack of planning have caused. Policies that Mr Kristol has been pushing since the beginning.

the self described "orig. neocon" chickenhawk tries to show how "regular guy" he is but exposes himself for being the narrowminded, pompous, misdirected ideologue that he is. Billy just can't get enough war. Billy thinks that our military should be a tool to b...

"The key to Iraq is the sharing of the oil revenues" is a line we hear about the political solutions of the country. And I don't doubt that necessarily. I am no nation builder, and defer to people more knowledgeable on the subject, like Joe Biden, who's plan calls for such a move.

Of course, he is not alone. virtually every expert on Iraq concurs. Iraq concurs. But what puzzles me, is why the right wing capatalist uber-alles types concurring?

Sharing the revenue of the nation's oil is som...

The controversy involving Pat Tillman isn't about Pat Tillman.

It's about you and me, the American people.

And it's not really a controversy at this point. At this point , the evidence is alarmingly clear. We were lied to. the use of Pat Tillman's death as a Madison Ave. promotion tool by the executive branch of our government was not only wrong, it is outright disgusting. Heads need to roll. I don't know exactly who's yet, but hopefully not some private or pion like all too often in the...

Dick Cheney continued his campaign of lies and deceit against the American People and the Constitution he swore to protect and uphold. This week, on comedian Rush Limaugh's show, Cheney had the audacity to repeat his bogus allegations that Iraq and Al Qaeda were working togethre before our invasion in 2003.

This was after the release of a report that captured Iraqi documents and intelligence interrogations of Saddam and two of his former aides "all confirmed" that Hussein's regime was not in...

Like many other bloggers, I can be a cable news junkie sometimes. unlike some, I try to get a good mix of views in. I'll catch some stories from conservatives like Wolf Blitzer, Joe Scarborough, Tucker Carlson and even Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. I also will catch some Olbermann and fellow libertarian Bill Maher for some more progressive viewpoints. But traditionally, my favorite news show over the last decade has been Chris Matthew's "Hardball."

Matthews interviews with a polite, yet agg...

This week, President Bush signed the War Commissions Act. The GOP, in an attempt to reframe the election debates once again, heralded the signing as another nail in the coffin to democrats more so than any terrorist at home or abroad. Funny, I thought that the war was against terrorists, not democrats.

Dennis Hastert, amongst others, desperate to hold onto power, bragged that this bill would stop those pesky democrats from "coddling and pampering" terrorists. yeah, that's what's been happeni...

The headline pretty much says it all. It may be much ado about nothing, But the department of homeland security has notified the NFL and the individual teams that there is a threat to explode 7 "dirty bombs" at games this weekend or "soon."

The 7 cities being targeted are New York, Miami, Atlanta Cleveland, Seattle, Oakland and Houston.

Publicly, homeland security is calling the threat "not credible." Yet they have been prepping the cities and having them increase security.

Recently, Conservative journalists and bloggers have been making up more lies about ex president Clinton. As i've stated before, i'm not a democrat (i'm a libertarian by party, but don't agree withthem all the time either) but I believe it's a shame what is being done to a pretty good President who despite what the radical right wing wants everyone to believe, had a successful Presidency.

The claim has been made (again) that Bill Clinton "cut and ran" from Somalia after the infamous "black ha...
