You see it in articles and replies all the time. To paraphrase, it usually boils down to this..." stop saying things i can't deal with, or i'll censor your words." It matters not how polite the person is. It doesn't matter if the person refrains from insults and profanity. All that matters is that the host of the article can't effectively argue something, therefore his only course of action is that of any coward. Run and hide. In this case, censor the writer. Of course, that's their choic...

the Republican party is desperate to hold power. For months now, candidates have waged highly negative campaigns to try to stop any takeover by the democrats of either house fo congress. The rhetoric has reached a fever pitch as those ads have seemingly lost their effectiveness. Out of the ashes of those unsuccessful attacks, the portable punditry has unleashed their latest round of "why everyone should still vote republican." Now, the pundits speak of conservative philosophies. They try ...

Alot of panic seems to have set in with the GOP. The balance of power is threatening to actually have some balance, and some are scared. Should they be? Well, if they are folk who are only interested in power and feel the only way to get their ideas across is to basically "fix" the vote, then yes. But I don't think most GOP members, at least the ones I know, feel that need. Most of the republicans I know are real conservatives, and where having a majority has been nice, they understand democ...

Occasionally, we hear people compare the Iraq War to the Vietnam war that ripped this country apart in the 1960's and 70's. Others immediately charge that this comparison is "ridiculous" and "politically motivated." So I steer clear of making such comparisons, until now. One of my favorite movies was American Graffiti. The 1972 groundbreaking George Lucas work shows a night in the life of several teenagers in the early 1960's, just as America was "losing it's innocence." At the end of the...

The Mark Foley scandal has woken up more republicans to the fact that, like Ronald Reagan said "I didn't leave my party, it left me." On one side, we see principled republican conservatives and other GOPers properly calling for this matter to be properly investigated, for leaders to voluntarily relinquish their posts and returning campain contributions from the disgraced congressman. On the other hand, the Bush loyalists are desperately screaming for someone to "blame the democrats" and w...

Late night comedians had a field day when Pat Stevens, the Senator in charge of the internet in congress, commented that the internet was a "series of tubes" showing how little he knew about the technology he was overseeing. Of course we all remember George Bush senior needing bar codes to be explained to him in a supermarket, exposing just how little shopping the ex pres actually ever did himself. Michael Dukakis was a walking joke after putting on a helmet and riding around in a tank as i...

Over the weekend, news junkies were treated to a series of "back and forths" concerning former President Bill Clinton's interview with Fox news anchor Chris Wallace. Wallace, claiming e-mails had forced him to ask the questions, pressured Bill Clinton over what he did to stop terrorism and Al Quaeda during his tenure. Clinton resonded with emotion, pointing out where he tried, but regrettably failed. he also pointed out that his counterterrorism chief presented the next administration with th...

The headlines about them are, of course, entirely wrong. It is not essential that a past president, bullied and sandbagged by a monkey posing as a newscaster, finally lashed back. It is not important that the current President’s portable public chorus has described his predecessor’s tone as “crazed.” Our tone should be crazed. The nation’s freedoms are under assault by an administration whose policies can do us as much damage as al Qaida; the nation’s marketplace of ideas is be...

Factcheck.org covers how blatantly dishonest Rick Santorum's new campaign ad is. Santorum should be ashamed, but he's probably not. This is true desperation. Check out the article here... Link

Last week, President Bush announced to the world that the distinguished war veterans such as John McCain, Colin Powell and Lyndsay Graham along with other well respected insiders like John Warner were clueless about the geneva Convention. He claimed another need to circumvent the constitution so he could do his thing in secret, his way...but don't worry, it's legal, cause he says it is. Bush claimed that "alternative interrogation methods" had produced a wealth of information, prevented at...

On September 11, 2001, America was the most popular country in the world. Virtually every nation condemned the attacks on our homeland and were on our side to bring the perpetrators to justice. Since then, we have gotten bogged down in the previously secular Iraq, giving Iran what they always wanted, a "Shiite Crescent" that stretches from tehran to Beruit. Recruiting for groups like Hamas, Hezbollah and Al Qaeda are thru the roof. Meanwhile, we have lowered our standards to recruiting th...
