He was a perennial starting quarterback in the NFL. He had endorsements that other players envy. He was truly one of the NFL's most exciting players. He got "the cover" of the most popular sports videogame franchises ever. As the old cliche goes, women wanted him and men wanted to be him. Michael Vick had it all. So, last year, when Vick was busted in an airport for possession of a small amount of pot, most people were left wondering, "what is this guy thinking?" Even if someone doesn't ...

This afternoon, it was announced that Amy Polumbo, Miss New Jersey, will indeed keep her crown despite the efforts of an annonymous coward who threatened her and the title she had earned. Miss Polumbo should serve as an example to others who are the victims of a cold hearted coward that tries to use blackmail to achieve their means. What she did was not back down. While i'm sure law enforcement was busy looking into the matter, the best thing she did was stand up, and put the photos that ...

This week, Judge Pearson walked out of court with nothing. He wasn't reimbursed in any way, and justice for the Korean couple who ran the dry cleaners he sued was served. Judge Pearson was one of those unreasonable customers all of us who have ever had the pleasure of dealing with customers occasionally run into. The customer who is wrong and trying to bully their way over you. Those customers are usually obvious. They yell, they threaten, they make outlandish claims about their persona...

This is the 2nd part of a brief "good, bad and ugly" analysis of each of the 2 major party's field of contenders. This time, we look at the Democrats. Hillary Clinton The Good - About as big of a success story and "living the dream" as any woman could be an example of. Mother, wife, professional, 1st lady and Senator. Hillary has definitely done it all. The Bad - The public may just be tired of a Bush or Clinton on the ballot since 1980. The Ugly - Has one of the most we...

About 5 minutes ago, my son called me from my desk. He was yelling from our pool out back, "daddy, daddy, look at those 2 planes up there!" When I got out there, I looked up and saw 2 big jets. I'm guessin coming out of Philadelphia International. Could have been BWI or lil ol New Castle's airport, but i'm thinkin Philly, based on the direction and all. The 1 jet was almost sideways, veering off to it's side. the other was veering slightly the other way. And they were pretty high up in th...

Today, former Chief of Staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby, was sentenced to 30 months in prison. He was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice earlier this year. His lawyers have stated they will appeal the conviction. In the meantime, the judge in the case is considering whether or not to demand that Libby serve his time immediately, or be able to be free while pending appeal. A 3rd option would have him report in 60 days. Comments by the judge in the court regard...

It seems the Attorney General's days may be numbered. Today, Senator Arlen Spector joined a growing chorus of bi partisan lawmakers calling for the removal or resignation of Alberto Gonzales. He described Gonzales's continued tenure as a threat to our future. "I have a sense that when we finish our investigation, we may have the conclusion of the tenure of the attorney general," Specter, R-Pa., said during a committee hearing. "I think when our investigation is concluded, it'll be cl...

In Washington D.C., Judge Roy Pearson is showing the nation why our Constitution is so important. Not by serving a slew of well thought out, principled, yet pragmatic decisions. But with his abuse of his power, over a pair of pants. 2 years ago, the judge enlisted the services of a local dry cleaner. The neighborhood dry cleaner, who seems an otherwise reliable service provider, as the failed "class action" suit the judge attemted failed, allegedly lost his pants. The result is Judge ...

Every day, the American political landscape is peppered with talk and debate about Iraq. One side talks about a responsible departure while the other uses inflamatory language to try to make the case for surges and further commitments in the region. T.B.T.K. is an old commonly used set of letters around capitol hill. It stands for "too big to kill." It is commonly used around government pork projects that lawmakers or whomever have ensured it's continued funding by simply making the progra...

The recent trip to Syria by house Speaker Pelosi has once again brought out the right wing portable punditry to lie, smear and spin. This time, the hypocrisy and lying is easy to spot. But only if you take your blinders off. The biggest hypocrisy over the trip was concerning the fact that republicans had made the trip to speak to Syrian leaders over the current situations in the region. Of course, the "counter-spin" was singling out Pelosi as "speaker" and therefore was somehow different ...

I don't know about you, but in my opinion, the media coverage of the 2008 "hopefuls" has been plain awful. Out of the 20 some candidates for 08, seems like 6 get all the attention. If you are sold on Rudy, Hillary, Barack, John E, John M or Mitt, that's probably suits you just fine. But i'm not. I'm not saying that I wouldn't vote for any of the "rock star" candidates, but i'm simply not sold on any of em. And I want to know more about the rest of the field. I would like to see some mo...

Last spring, the nation supposedly was enlightened to a tragic course of events. A woman had been raped by 3 priveledged students at one of the south's premiere universities. And this time, justice would prevail. the students were quickly identified, indicted and imprisoned. Evidence, including DNA evidence was gathered that would prove these out of control rich-kids were guilty of raping this poor woman. The students were thrown off the team, thrown off campus. The rest of the team, who was ...

Last night's "Special Comment" by Keith Olbermann was a classic, and, as per usual lately, right on point. The complete special comment can be found here...the following is the 1st part to wet the appetite.... Keith Olbermann 1/2/07 If in your presence an individual tried to sacrifice an American serviceman or woman, would you intervene? Would you at least protest? What if he had already sacrificed 3,003 of them? What if he had already sacrificed 3,003 of them — and was then to...
